This website will continue evolving over time - so keep looking. This will be the main place for information.
As a society, we seem slow to adapt to the realisation that our planet does not have limitless resources. If not us, it will be our grandchildren who will suffer from our exuberance. Attitudes do change, but slowly. Are we at the tipping point where reducing waste and thinking of future generations becomes the norm rather radical? Think of your youngest relative. Now do the maths to work out what year they might live to ( e.g. a 10 year old could easily live beyond the year 2100... will there be anything left for them?!!).
These events are themed around repair and reuse and to encourage creative thinking before resorting to landfill. In a small way, we are trying to shift society towards self-reliance. Even the food at this event will be created from ingredients that would have been wasted. Let your imagination run riot in our creative upcycling areas. Bring things to mend and learn something in the process. Bring useful items (no rubbish) to give away - tools, bikes, appliances etc. NOTE: We want a general give-away area, BUT we are worried that there will be a load of unwanted stuff at the end. Furthermore, we don't have a lot of space for this facility. That said, not-too-bulky things that would be desirable to others can be brought for others to take away.
